Doing great myself but we are saturated and can't handle much more rain but we live a tad south between Houston and Galveston. My wife and I anniversary was tonight and we had to cancel our dinner we had in Houston as the roads were impassable for the most part. East of Houston to the border of Louisiana and especially Beaumont to Orange are now a part of the ocean and heavy damage. They will be declared disaster areas and the landscape will be altered. I was looking at buying some land that way and glad I didn't now but will be looking at bargains in the near future.

Happy anniversary, dude!

Area indeed can't handle another drop of rain.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

We live near you guys.  No water here but we didn’t go anywhere north of the beltway this past week.

Yeah the roads were just draining away earlier today but we came out pretty good. North of Houston is a disaster again though and eastward we should find out within a couple days how bad it got. Glad you made it OK and are safe.Good luck and God bless. We live near Kemah boardwalk at someplace called Bacliff about a block from the bay.

Ok, not a flooding issue, but the wife said her car needed washing, so I dutifully washed it before the college games started.  Of course, she decided she needed to go shopping just as the thunder storm was coming through.

BTW, Happy Anniversary @luckytxn, we have our five year coming up next Friday.

Yeah my wife pulled that ####### last week too and I refused because I said wait until after the coming tropical storm but she of course  won out as she has the you know what and I wanted some of it of course.

Thanks. This is the 9th official wedding that actual counts because it was a Catholic church thingy. We have the civil ceremony one in February 18th that was our 10th anniversary. That 90 day window we had that most of us know about here seems to be not mentioned by my wife but I can't forget. We supposed to go out tomorrow or Monday someplace nice but she hasn't made up her mind yet where.

Thanks AFLKAD. Never will say I am still sane but and am hanging in there to the best of my ability.

That is what I told Katya, she gets to decide where we go; so far no decision.  I imagine she will wait for the last minute.

Mine is waiting too and I already know she will probably tell me to decide and I plan on Seafood buffet at San Jacinto Inn or a steak bigger than my head somewhere nice. Sometimes she throws a curveball and tells me where we are going but it involves a suit usually. She did say I was shaving and haircut tonight so she is playing a game right now.

We were in Russia recently and found a Serbian steakhouse that had steaks of at least 750 grams.  No way I could finish it.

I could destroy that and dessert and a couple of beers. Try this place. I been here a few times and never tried the challenge but watched some try and only one actually finish it. 72 oz and all the trimmings and it is free if done in one hour.
