Basically exactly as the title is stating, I have seen in multiple places varying answers on this topic, but never one singular answer, so we are curious, what exactly is good for Supporting Documentation for the Affidavit?

We were thinking Employment letter stating that I am employed full time, since when I have been employed, and my gross annual salary.  Also including every single pay stub I have received, which at this point would since Jan, so since then.

We don't have any tax returns, as I have not had to file taxes for the pass couple of years.

Are there anything else?  Help on exactly what is needed is greatly appreciated!

You will need to provide an explanation as to why you didn't file previous tax returns

YMMV

I didn't file previous tax returns as I wasn't working at the time, when/where would I explain that?

If you were not legally required to file taxes because you didnt earn enough or because your income was not taxable, then you will write a statement declaring that and why you weren't required as explained in the I864 instructions.

"Good documentation"? That cant be defined as what you will submit is situationally specific.

The CORRECT documentation for your extremely specific financial situation is what youll need to submit. Youll need to submit the EXACT documents that prove the amounts you filled in the financial questions of the I864.

If you dont have tax income youll need to use 2019 predicted income in Part 6 Question 7. In order to prove current employment income the i864 instructions state a current Employment Verification Letter and recommend 6 months current paystubs.

If your income doesn't meet the guidelines youll need to use assets too and will need to provide the exact documents requested for each particular asset used to meet the poverty guidelines.

So your best bet is to sit down with the I864, its instructions and your financial documents and go through the financial section to figure out what documents YOU will need to back up the amounts you input to meet the poverty guidelines.

The current job I am working I exceed the poverty guidelines so thats not an issue, it seems as if the only thing that is situationally specific to me is putting down why I didnt file taxes, I just do that on the actual i-864 itself?

As per the I864 instructions you will disclose that on the I864 form and write a statement.

As above, please download the form and instructions and study it thoroughly.

Note though that you will have to be very specific as to why you did not file and as you have not clarified why that is, ensure you read the whole section in the second screenshot.

The public charge issue is being more strictly enforced these days, so be ready with a joint sponsor if you are asked for one at the interview.  While current income is most important, they look at the totality of your financial situation, so even if your current income exceeds the minimum poverty guidelines, given that your income was not enough to file tax returns for the last three years, it could be a concern for the officer adjudicating your case.  Good luck!

I'm confused I simply didn't file because I wasn't working, in school, and working on my applications for professional schools, I am honestly bewildered at the idea that a joint sponsor could be needed when I easily exceed the minimum poverty guidelines.

Something about this seems a little off, that all can be checked, and somehow not meeting something?

Dont forget your total financial situation will be evaluated too. Perhaps you only recently meeting the poverty guidelines is your issue too. Not having earned enough to file taxes as recently as last year could be their concern too.

I saw another post where 6 months of paystubs was well more than sufficient, by time of interview I would have about a year of paystubs I will be showcasing, employment letter,  a full bank statement with her on it, and other things with both our names on it such as same address

What people don't realize is that the sixth month paystub not only includes current pay period information but year to date,  which renders the prior stubs essentially worthless

YMMV

I'm honestly confused by what you mean here

The gross and net earnings on your October 1, 2019 earnings statement will reflect everything earned from that job since January 1, 2019, as well as the portion for the individual pay period.
