Hello,

I am planning my trip to cross the border either in Idaho or Montana to head to Seattle from Calgary and just looking to see if I’m doing everything correctly to avoid any issues since travelling with three children (one being an infant) is going to be stressful enough.

My fiancée is going to be driving a u haul with all my belongings and myself, my mother and my three children will be driving my SUV.

I will have a detailed inventory list of everything in the U haul as well as all our paperwork from Montreal consulate. My mother is coming to help us get settled and see us get married and then will be driving my SUV back to Canada after a week and a half because I want my vehicle left in Canada for when I eventually get advanced parole as I will have to visit because my family is there, my eldest daughter and my house still hasn’t sold.

Am I forgetting anything or do you have any tips for a smooth process?

Anyone not moving should bring proof of ties to Canada.  Bring compliance letter of your vehicle if youre importing plus a list of household goods you are importing.  (General list is fine.)  Sweetgrass is a really easy POE.
