i130 and i485

I am an American citizen living in the States.  My wife is living in Thailand and we have been married since Jan. 2014. Since she is living in Thailand, am I allowed to file both the i130 and i485 concurrently or does she need to be physically in the states?

 

If i choose to do  only the i130  now when can i do the i485 for my wife?

She will never need an i485 as she will complete everything abroad .  Upon entry she will become a  green card holder immediately

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
