Subject Access Report, ACRO clear

Thanks @Wuozopo. I think since we have the flights booked to London already for Tuesday & I was able to reschedule the same day (not time) he's going to go to the interview. I know it's super risky but we have all that's required originally and the ACRO is clear - no trace. He's been to the NI police to inquire about a SAR there and its possible they can expedite it because they email them. He'll try again tomorrow since its after hours now with London embassy via email as well as ACRO to see if they can email something along the same lines they've already said on the phone.

I will say they did spell his name wrong in the email (Glen vs Glenn) - maybe it's a mixup of people or a case of a common name?

With all the travel arranged, I would go too. I think they will give you a chance to provide anything else they really need after the inter view as they do for everybody. And you are face to face with a real person to ask them WTH??  And you have a perfectly good reason for wanting to keep your original travel arrangements. You don't exactly live just around the corner. It will get sorted and hopefully explained. If they really want something else, you send it via courier-in and they pause the cause while you get it to them.

Wanted to update:

He went to his interview and brought the SAR he was able to get from the NI police headquarters. It too said clear.

At the interview he was told he could not interview without the SAR from ACRO and they handed him all his documents, passport and chest xray back. The man at the window said the SAR is a requirement and because he chose to still come to the interview he would not continue. We are devastated. Another round of airfare to London is not possible right now and the officer was very short with him. He was handed no papers, no 221g, nothing.

I also cannot bring up our LND # on the CEAC website which I find strange.

Everything is clear - he doesn't even have a parking ticket - and they're treating him like he's a criminal.

That is the most bizarre story I have heard out of London. I have never, ever in probably thousands of interviews I have read, heard of them sending somebody away. There is more to the story for sure but most likely a big mix up somewhere. So sorry for you.

That's why I cant wrap my head around all this. Because of the years I've been learning and reading these boards.

I too would be thinking theres got to be more to the story if I read this post - like a childhood arrest or something in the past - but I know there isn't.

My fiance just noticed the officer did keep my affidavit of support, job letter and transcripts though. And strangely was given the Abuse pamphlet

Was this the document collector at the first window or the actual officer who interviews when you are called up a second time to a window?

The abuse pamphlet is normal - I was given one, even though I advised I’d had one with my letter from the embassy - I think they just want to be certain everyone’s had one.

I knew it was normal but I thought it was strange that they still gave him one although he was denied an interview altogether. Like at that point he'd never even enter the US to need said pamphlet.

I guess I'll choose to look at it positively that after he's provided the 3rd police clearance that says he's still got no police history they will approve him? 🤔🤷‍♀️😂

  • 3 weeks later...

Well, it looks like there was actually more to this story. My fiance received his SAR and there was something on it. It was a false accusation from 4 years ago. It is listed under the arrest heading but it says 'no further action' and 'no prosecution'. He was never actually arrested. Police called him to come down and he went and had a 20 minute discussion and the case was closed.

So... what exactly do we need for this, if anything, other than the SAR? And will this affect our visa?
