So worried now, it happened that I received my visa appointment letter in Hong Kong and notice that the appointment date (E.g. Wednesday) is the day before I have to leave Hong Kong for vacation (e.g.Thursday)!! Since the plane ticket was purchased prior to knowing my visa appointment interview.

**Does anyone know if my passport will be return on the same day after the visa appointment?** 😖😭

I don't want to miss my flight because of not having the Passport with me. Thanks!!

You would need to discuss this if you are approved.   No such thing as same day Visa issuance.

YMMV

If you have your visa approved at the appointment, generally you surrender your passport to the consulate for admin. processing. This processing can take several days for several weeks. It is likely of little consequence to the consulate staff the particulars of your ticket purchase. YMMV.

It seems that you inadvertently committed one of the cardinal sins of these forums. You should never make any non-refundable/non-changeable plans of any type( i.e., travel, appointments, wedding) without having your passport in your hand and your visa in the passport.

As it appears to stand now, you have left yourself with few options. Cancel and reschedule your trip, or cancel and reschedule your visa interview. If you feel lucky, go to the interview, pass the interview, and then beg for them to process your visa immediately... Do you feel lucky? 🤔

Good luck on your immigration journey.
