Well the liberal media were fortunate that conservative businessman Michael Adamson picked this moment in time to leak the Arabian Nights photo, and that the conservative party of Canada decided this was the time to send the high school picture of Trudeau that they had in their possession to the media.

Yes, the conservatives in Canada should just have taken the high road and let the Leftist do the dirty work.

Given that the conservatives have their own discrimination issues to tackle in advance of next months election, it may have been wiser to take the high road. I can't say I'm surprised though. Andrew Scheer has recently been defending his own homophobic statements and the racism of some of his fellow conservative party MP's by saying it was a long time ago and people can change. His statement that Trudeau is unfit to govern over past actions did come off extremely hypocritical and is generating a lot of debate in it's own right.

It is interesting to watch really. Scheer is one of the last people who should be casting stones at someone else's bigotry. The conservative party leader may not have ever dressed in a way that demeaned someone else race or culture, but he has certainly said enough things. I wouldn't think he would benefit from pushing this too much. People may switch votes over Trudeau's past, but it's unlikely that they are going to move towards the conservative party if the issue of concern is candidate's history of racism. The other thing is, people might actually believe the sincerity of Trudeau's apology.  It's much less certain that they would believe Scheer's, which is probably why he hasn't apologized at all. He has spent a great deal of time avoiding the issue. He may not be able to anymore.

Has Scheer ever claimed to be woke?
