You think I'm upset by your posts? You really have been gone a long time Lucky. I am trying to help you learn something, but I can see you're not really trying. That's fine too. Carry on.

As I said you can move on too and mute me if I upset you and not posting to your standards. I have forgotten more than you will ever learn in your life. If killing babes is your thing then go on and stay self righteous about it as that is OK. Now go along as nothing to see here for you.

Well I agree with you on one thing I guess. Not much reason to discuss anything further here. I will thank you for the quality of your tremendous contributions to the thread. It is always enlightening to see where the other side is coming from.

And I expect the lack of enlightenment from you and others as usual.

I respectfully disagree that a fetus is a baby (as far as I know, legally it isn't one), but I don't have a problem with someone thinking otherwise, unless it affects my legal rights. It's okay to disagree without being disagreeable! :) But then, what would be the fun in that? :D

From the OP article:

"The institute estimated that there were about 862,000 abortions in 2017, nearly 200,000 fewer than in 2011.  The abortion rate — the number of abortions per 1,000 women of reproductive age — dropped to 13.5 in 2017 from 16.9 in 2011, the lowest rate since abortion became legal nationwide in 1973. "

From the CDC:

" Results: A total of 638,169 abortions for 2015 were reported to CDC from 49 reporting areas. Among these 49 reporting areas, the abortion rate for 2015 was 11.8 abortions per 1,000 women aged 15–44 years, and the abortion ratio was 188 abortions per 1,000 live births."

https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/67/ss/ss6713a1.htm

So abortions in 2017 were lower than in 2011.  But abortions in in 2015 were higher than in 2017.  Sounds suspiciously like climate change to me... the numbers vary by year.  Also, the article claims that the abortion rate in 2017 (13.5) was the lowest ever, yet the CDC has 2015 (11.8) a tad lower.

I'm with NB2, the numbers are reminiscent of 2-day old afterbirth.

Also, annual births are dropping.  Teen birth rates from 2017-2018 dropped about 7%.  Makes sense that abortions are also dropping.  If I get time tmrw, I will download all the CSV data from the CDC and have a look at the actual numbers.

Just a guess, but one is "estimated" results, and one is based on reported results. That may account for the difference. I think we discussed this before, but reporting to the CDC is not mandatory.

Not only not mandatory,  but also incomplete.  As per the CDC, "49 areas" reported for the 2015 stats, but they didn't elaborate on which "areas".  Might find out if I download the CSVs.  Will report back if I do.

Amazing a organization with an agenda, would publish data that fit exactly into its narrative. Once again I am pro choice with a limit, it's just that I can smell Bs at 100 yards

Do you think abortion rates are rising, or do you just not believe the numbers? Hard to find any article anywhere that doesn't say rates have been trending down since ~2011.

If the data is from the same areas every year, it may not be accurate for total numbers, but it could still show if there is a downward trend or not.

Honestly no clue,  Just think they are using cooked data to make a point.

On what basis besides a hunch? Not trying to be argumentative, I'd just like to know. :)
