I-864 Affidavit of Support Common or Separate? (merged topics)

My US citizen husband is filing separate I-130 petitions for me who is in US and my son (his stepchild) who is abroad. I'm going through Adjustment of status I-485 and my son is going through the Consular processing.

Should my husband file common I-864 for both of us or separate? If separate, then should my son be there as a principal immigrant or as a family member, immigrating more than 6 months after the principal immigrant?

Should I answer "Yes" or "no" on the question "Is this child applying with you?" at the I-485 Status Adjustment form?

Thanks!

That's what we thought but surely do not want to make any errors in submitting the paperwork.

I have another question that you may be able to help me with.
I'll just paste it here.

The I-864 for your son, is not filed with the I-130.  It will come 10 to 12 or so months later at the NVC stage.  You are each the principal and only immigrant on your respective affidavits of support.  When petitioner is a US Citizen, never list additional immigrants who have their own petition filed for them.  They are listed as dependants, not immigrants, on your affidavit and you as spouse on the child's affidavit.
