by the same token, I would have thought your EAD/Ap card would have been sent to you already. I dont understand the delay when many of us had it relatively quickly...I feel bad you are having to go through this all over again, thought at least it is more bearable since you are together

Yeah it is more bearable, but it does not change the fact that our waiting time is appearing like its going to be excessive. If I could understand what's  slowing it up it would not be so bad, there  has to be something they are looking at.

I guess your RFE would make the process longer.I'd suggest you have your mind set on the end of April. Then prepare to submit an expedite request by the second week of May if there is no update on your status before then.

Hi Texas residents,

I noticed many filers from some States get scheduled pretty fast. Texas seem to be pretty slow. I also don't seem to see comments from Texas filers, especially those who filed this year. So I decided to create this thread so we can all talk about our experiences, frustrations and successes.

Here are a few stats for Texas filers. There are five (5) field offices in Texas (El Paso, Harlingen, San Antonio, Dallas and Houston). I arranged them in the order of processing time with El Paso having the fastest processing time and Houston having the least. Currently there are 17,256 pending cases with Houston and they only process an average of 1730 cases per month and they receive 1130 cases per month (do the math).

I and my hubby are with Dallas Field Office which is almost as slow as Houston.

The wait continues.

Please how did you get this statistics. I'll appreciate you send the link.

Also would you happen to know what the average wait period for Dallas filers to be scheduled for interview.

That's the most recent report. It's been sent in quarterly. Looking at the report, it seems they've really cleared lots of pending cases. That's good news. That means it might take 3 to 4 months for ones case to be adjudicated.....unless off course something comes up (for instance COVID19) and prolongs it.

It took me 6 months to get scheduled for interview. It could be more it could be less.

Hi

I came to USA as a student and I have the legal status as student until 2022. I had an approved family based immigration petition and right now I am thinking to apply for an Adjustment of Status. Is there anyone in this group who has gone through this process (student visa to green card)?

Thanks in advance
