   Thought we could take a break with all the dumb bum chants for a bit and recognize that there are really some truly malignant characters holding office out there. Fortunately this guy is no longer in office. Hopefully he gets what he deserves.

A Pennsylvania state senator has been arrested and charged with possessing child pornography.

 

Republican Sen. Michael Folmer, 63, was booked on charges of sexual abuse of children, possession of child pornography, and criminal use of a communication facility. The investigation into Folmer, who has been in office since 2006, began when authorities received a tip that a user uploaded child pornography to the blogging site Tumblr.

It is interesting, the other day my coworker was looking up a former acquaintance he knew from another company who was in fact the CEO of that small firm.  He found the company, but they had a new CEO; when he looked up the guy’s name he found out he had been charged with possession of child pornography.  As @Steeleballz said, hopefully the elected official in the OP, and this guy I mentioned get what they deserve.

  It's shocking and disgusting how much this seems to come up nowadays. There was another elected official busted recently that I recall reading about. An MLB player in the news today arrested for underage solicitation. Who knows how many prominent names would have been linked to the Epstein case.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Sickening at any level, and deserving of the harshest punishment allowed by law.  But how do elected officials GET elected when they are into this sort of thing?  SOMEONE close to them must have known about it, and could have exposed them sooner, or prevented them from achieving office, me thinks.

I am *not* one to believe conspiracy theories, but I do believe that people in positions of power in this country exploit children for the purposes of controlling other people (adults). We can see it playing out right now in the Epstein aftermath. People don't blow the whistle because they're afraid of getting implicated themselves, possibly because they took part, or possibly because they were enablers. NO ONE (rightly) wants to be associated with this in any way, even tangentially. And because children are amongst the least powerful and least credible in our society, they can't speak adequately for themselves. It's just so unbelievably tragic. :(
