I filed my petition for a K-1visa a few weeks ago, my check has been cashed (april 18) but I have not heard anything. The print on the back of my check was not readable to even get the number to check on-line.

I think I should call, does anyone know what phone number would be best?

I filed through Texas.

I take it you never received your hard copy NOA-1 ?

you should call them and tell them .

Yep, definitely call them. Same thing happened to me and they gave me the correct receipt # over the phone.

Your case has been forwarded to California. Texas doesnt process K-1 visas anymore. You can call an inquire and see if you can get your case number. If your check has been cashed, your likely in the queue waiting to be processed. As far as approval, dont expect to see anything until later this month or next.

Well I called and was a little surprised I got through in less than a minute (after the promts),

I gave my info to a lady who did a "request of service" over the phone.

She said it would be forwarded to my service center with a "target date" which is more than a month and a half away!

Yikes! Most peoples cases I have watched, sent there 1-129 and they received their first notice withing a few days, to only check why I have not received mine could take two months or more.

It's not looking good.

If the check has been cashed then you know they received your application. This is a long process and there is a lot of waiting involved.

Since your application has to be transferred from Texas to California it takes a couple weeks for them to issue NOA1 and then a few days for the mail to deliver it.

I can understand what you are saying but..... why is it every one elses time line, only shows a few days between receiving the package to getting a first notice?

In my case it has been weeks.

After giving the lady on the phone all my info, I failed to ask if there was a way she could locate my "Number" so I could track it on line, the back of my check had no such number.
