MISSED AOS INTERVIEW BY 15 MINUTES (merged)

Hi everybody!

 

This is a sad story!

But I could use your help and courage not to lose hope.

 

My husband and I had our AOS appointment at 8 this morning. Travel time is 45-1hr. So, we left around 6:30am to give time but didn't make it on time. 

We got to the building 8:04 and waited 10minutes to be checked by security and still security let us in. And when we went to the office where to check-in there was another line and when we  the lady checked our appointment it was already like 20-30minutes late. And told us immediately to reschedule the interview. She handed us a white paper and told us to write down the reasons we ran late, had a hard time looking for parking. 

And now, we've just missed the most awaited  interview. 

 

I know we should've left 2hrs before but we can't bring back the time.

That is certainly disappointing.  Hopefully you can get a rescheduled timeslot soon.

Is someone of you out here that could give me an idea what's going to happen after you miss AOS interview at 8am.

There was traffic and had a hard looking for parking. 

 

I could use your motivation and hoping to think in advance what will be going to happen?

Call them, explain the situation. I am sure you are not the first, try the call, then an infopass appt, be polite be apologetic and don't miss the reschedule. Good luck

What happened?  How late were you?  Did you try to go into the USCIS office anyway?

its so crazy they didn’t accept us.  We were able to go through security but the lady in the check in counter told us immediately to reschedule the interview .

We got  there 8:04 still outside the building there were people already in line . And waited to passed security about 10-15minutes and went to 2nd floor and still another wait to check in the and when we got there to the lady she checked our appointment and unfortunately we were already behind and she handed us a white paper to write down the reason why we ran late ..... etc etc 

 

So,  I guess another wait again for us. 

And patience too!

 Yes definitely you’re right.  Leave early.

I can’t take back the time now. 

I’m really really so sad right now .

the feeling, the long wait and in just one mistake.  When I got home I feel like my legs were paralyzed and still hoping I’ll hear something from them. Even now still can’t believe it happened.  And still crying.  I just need to release my mistake. And hoping they’ll reschedule us soonest.

Don't be too harsh on yourself, it happens. 

You were not the first to be late, and they already asked you to reschedule. Breathe.

 It just I can’t believed it . But yes you’re right I’m not the first one who went late . I’m hoping I’d still be able to get a slot Interview. Thank you so much @Lemonslice

 It is so crazy.  Haven’t eaten meals since this morning , couldn’t feel any appetite not even hungry at all. 

 Been looking for some  similar situations and found a couple videos and blogs that they were given a letter stating to explain what happened and reasons etc etc  and should be within 30days. 

Mao it’s going to be okay.
