N400 traffic ticket questions 23,24,25

Hi there. 

I'm filling out N400 and came across three questions (23,24,25) I need help  answering. In 2014 I got a Careless/Prohibited driving ticket.I got the ticket because I was at fault in a car accident. There was no alcohol or drugs involved and I was never arrested. A police officer that came to the scene gave me that ticket. I paid it in full before the court date, so I did not appear at the court either. I got my Traffic Violation Report from Driving Records Office (Arkansas). It shows all my violations since I got my driver's license. There is just one violation - which is that Careless/Prohibited Driving from 2014. There are the following words in the report: Offense Date, Conviction Date, Offense.

I know that my answer to Question 23 Have you ever been arrested, cited, or detained by any law enforcement officer for any reason? is YES.

I am not really sure though if I need to answer YES to Question 24 Have you ever been charged with committing, attempting to commit, or assisting in committing a crime or offense? and
Question 25. Have you ever been convicted of a crime or offense?

Are those questions related to some serious crimes and offenses only? My report calls my traffic violation "An offense" and shows a "Conviction Date"

What is the correct way to answer questions 24 and 25 on Form N400 in my case?

The ticket was $190.

Question 23 - YES

Question 24 - YES (it's generally a Class B Misdemeanor in Arkansas)

Question 25 - NO (that sounds more like the conviction code/violation date the DMV uses on their reports, not an actual criminal conviction date)

It's related to any arrest, citation or detainment "ever" for "any reason" as outlined in the first question---whether you personally deem them serious or not.  For the N400, you must disclose it.

Thanks for the response. That ticket is not a misdemeanor in Arkansas though.

Correct---I first read it as "reckless driving" not "careless driving"---my excuse is I'm still on my first cup of coffee !

 

It won't be a negative factor for your N400, so don't stress too much about it.

Thanks for your response. So, would it still be Yes for 24 and No for 25?

Correct.

You were still charged with committing the offense, you were not criminally convicted.

 

You'll want to bring proof of payment of the fine to your N400 interview, incase it is asked for.

I have a similar question if you can give me some guidance 

in 2018 I was stopped for reckless speeding 25mph on 50mph in Virginia. 
I went to court and was able to get a charge of improper driving, which is a traffic infraction.

do I still answer yes to all 3 questions- question number 23,24 and 25
