Hi.

I have a question about Part5 6.a-6.c

2016 I was previously married and filed jointly. - I just list my income basically the total of my W-2s?

2017 I was single. Dating my wife at the time (She was a J-1 she filed single as well on her own)

2018 Since I married my wife (beneficiary) I filed jointly. She had income from 2018 since she was a J-1 and had a SSN so we filed jointly with all the W-2s. Do I include all income since she was here and it was US income?

My job participates with the equifax service "The work number" It has a income verification for immigration purposes. Which has the following information.

2017 - 33,028.95

2018 - 40,384.45

2019 - 32,619.62 (Current. I am tipped based. Work projects a busy next 3 months. I expect to be 42-45K year's end. That's with 2 months off earlier this year.)

I'll have to caculate 2016, but that was when I was married previously. So I just go based on the addition of my w-2s? ( It's the same company. at some point they changed their legal name due to a merger)

Am I safe to go solo without any additional help?

Thank you for reading and assisting.

For 15 and 17 use the number on line 22 of page one of the 1040, even though it would be joint with a former spouse.  For 2018, it's line 6 that shows "Total Income".  Your current income is NOT your 2019 income.  It is your income at your current rate, projected for the next 12 months going forward.  Typically, it is the gross for a full pay period, times the number of pay periods in a full year.  You might want to average up to three past months, and multiply that average accordingly.  Provide copies of the pay stubs you used to make your calculation, as your evidence of current income.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
