Ah, congratulations on being an American! Bring a photo ID and a book. You may or may not get called to be questioned by an attorney. You go in, watch a video explaining the process and wait to be called. Sometimes you can wait the entire day and never be called or they can dismiss everyone at 10am. Your name may be called in which you go in front of the attorneys and they will ask you questions (your occupation, etc) just be truthful- if one of the attorneys thinks you’d be an asset to their side you may get selected for a trial. That means you would come back- wouldn’t happen that day. I highly suggest bringing a book or a tablet with headphones if electronics are allowed. There’s no way to screw up- just be truthful if asked and turn your electronics off if asked!

 

In my state you can call a hotline the night before to see if you do not have to report to jury duty. Unsure if that is across all states but you should have received a brochure when you were summoned that would have info.

Approved: 10/23/18 -no interview
