Good evening...

i need somes helps,  i got marriage  3 day ago in Washington Dc ,what kind of documents i need to have  my adjustment of status? Also i would like to fill my licence of driver.Thank so much

A certified copy of your marriage certificate, to start with.

Follow the AOS guides here on VJ.

Laws pertaining to driver's licensing in the US are governed by states, so check directly with the department of motor vehicles/licensing in the state where you live, or in DC if it is administered separately there.

VJ is a great resource for research. The magnifying glass above is an amazing help for when you need elaborate answers.

Each month of AOS filing (and any other category) usually has its own thread in which you can help each other while being at the same stage.

Both August and September have their own thread and lucky for you the first post of each month contains exactly what you are asking:

August:

September:

Good luck!

Buenos noches Efrain, welcome to VJ,

This is a copy of the exact message of a response to the very similar question that another VJ member asked. I have posted this same answer several times in the last few days. Anyone reviewing a couple of pages of pages of this forum's threads would likely find it very easily. In the previous message, I agreed with geowrian, a forum organizer about AOS information availability.

Agree with geowrian. This is a very popular topic, so popular that I am going to use the same message that I have used several times every week. You should take some time to read and research the links below.

When you file your AOS/EAD/AP, you should receive the Form I-797C (NOA1) AOS receipt notice. This notice confers legal status for you to stay, and finish the AOS adjudication process. It is generally recommended that when you file your AOS, you should also concurrently file for Employment Authorization Document (EAD) and Advance Parole (AP) documents. The application fees for EAD/AP apps are waived if filed with AOS. Due to the current prolonged processing times, the ability to work and for international travel can be important while waiting for AOS adjudication. For further information, read some other threads in these AOS Process and Working/Traveling Forums. I will include a list of sites, that have information about filing AOS/EAD/AP.

https://www.uscis.gov/i-485 , see special instruction tab for EAD/AP concurrent filing.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

As other respondents have noted, items such as marriage and driver's licenses are generally administered by the local jurisdictions, such as, states, or district in your case.

Through a simple Google search of  the term "District of Columbia Drivers License," I was able to find this link, which should be of use to you, https://dmv.dc.gov/service/driver-licenses .

Be a good VJ member and :time:. It helps everyone that uses or is helped by using the VJ forum.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
