Sorry about the caps, thanks for the info by the way

So I-130 is different from IR-1? Whats the difference? Is the span of time of process is the same between the two? I just cant live without my family sorry for being inquisitive.

thank you god bless you all

The first is a form you fill in, the second is the Visa you get, probably the one you got when you moved to the US.

Definitely best to marry now and petition as an LPR for your wife. The challenge that you will face is surviving the very long wait apart.

If you wait for citizenship, 2011 is when you can apply for citizenship. It might take you a couple of years for that to be granted, and then you can apply for K-1 or K-3, which might take another year. So you could easily be waiting until 2014 before you could bring your fiancee/wife here on a K-1/K-3.

Best of luck,

youngdaddy,

I-130 is a petition that a US citizen or LPR submits to USCIS to qualify their alien relative to apply for an immigrant visa. It is used to establish that the alien in question is a relative.

IR-1 is an immigrant classification - specifically the classification for an immigrant spouse who has been married to their petitioner for more than 2 years.
