Hello,

I posted just awhile ago and based on the response I will be filing a CR1 petition. We did the K1, was approved, fiancé was here for 2 months then went back to native Colombia within the. Now to get her back I'm thinking the Cr1 petition. I'm confused about the green card application? I know we start off with the I-130 but how and where does the adjustment of status fit in. Basically I need to know All the forms and times to file for the CR1.

Thanks,

Dennis

There is no adjustment of status with a CR-1.  Upon entry into the US with a valid CR-1 visa, the foreign spouse immediately obtains the status of legal resident...with authority to work, etc.  You need to study and understand this guide:  https://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1/

"The US immigration process requires a great deal of knowledge, planning, time, patience, and a significant amount of money.  It is quite a journey!"

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

No adjustment of status. When I-130 is approved, it goes to NVC, where you need to submit more documents, then it gets sent to the Embassy for the interview. Spouse gets issued an immigrant visa, and upon entry, will become a Lawful Permanent Resident. Green card will arrive in the mail few weeks later.
