Hi, all.

I'm currently in the US on a J1 visa, which is set to expire in the middle of October. I applied and was approved for the H1-B visa, which has a period of eligibility of Oct 1, 2019 to Oct 1, 2022. It's unclear to me when I should go to the US embassy (in Belfast) to have my interview and get my new stamp for the H1 visa. Can I wait until my J1 has expired (mid Oct)? do I have to visit the embassy before the H1-B eligibility start date?

Any advice is much appreciated!
