I'm trying to enroll my fiance's daughter in school.   We need proof of residence.  What utility companies or banks or whatever companies will they accept my Fiance who doesn't have a SSN or Tax ID.

The public school needs at least 2 forms of proof of residence.     We won't be married until later but in the meantime what options do we have or does her daughter have to stay out of school until after we get married and get an adjustment of Status?

Can be your name on the stuff also as a step parent. That's how we got mine enrolled in school back then and there was no issue with that we all went up there.

Not yet married

YMMV

We also went up and talked to them before we were married. Still didn't have an issue. School didn't start until after we were married but that shouldn't effect the enrolling part (on ours).

No SSN?

You do not need a social security number to enroll the children in school ( I did not know this prior into enrolling my step children). My step kids had only been here 2 weeks when I enrolled them and we were not yet married. I had to use my information for both children and sign a paper certifying they lived with me but he is listed as the primary contact etc. I also had to take my utility bill in my name or lease showing I lived at the address. You will also need their shot records. I used the shot record from the embassy and that was fine. It literally took 10 min. I did not have the last report cards and just reported that she should be in 2nd grade and the said that was fine as well just try to get it and if that is not possible they may test her for placement but they didn’t.

All the shot requirements are met.    School wants not only a lease agreement but 2 forms of proof of living here i.e. utility.   Electric company wants SSN or tax ID so that can't happen yet.   I cant claim step dad yet officially.

You should be able to connect the dots between you, your fiance, and the child........then show evidence of your residence.......

Obtaining proof of residence in this phase can be difficult for a K-Visa holder. Been there.

Request SSN asap and get a State ID. Get married and file AoS asap as well.

Have you tried reaching out to the school and explain the situation?
