Hi,

I'm a little confused as to when the I-134 form is submitted - I assume it is not in the first packet for approval since it does not appear in the checklist. From what I can tell it is submitted after inital approval - is this correct? When should I start gathering info for that?

Start gathering info asap as some items can take a couple of weeks ie. tax transcripts from the IRS. You won't need the I-134 until the interview. Good luck on your journey!

First - fill out your timeline and let us know what kind of visa you're working towards.

The I-134 will come at the interview stage, not sooner - not with the I-129F. The documents needed to support it vary from person-to-person. Some people don't need tax returns at all. Read the instructions for the petition you're currently submitting again to help you understand what you'll need to include with the filing.

Later, read the I-134 so you know what kind of documents you may need to support it.

I-129F/K1

1-12-07 mailed to CSC

1-22-07 DHS cashes the I-129F check

5-20-07 Packet 3 mailed

The I-134 is needed for K-Visa interview, so should be prepared and sent to SO in foreign country around the time they get Packet 3 from the emabssy or consulate.

Your profile lacks details so cannot give you advice about what to expect from your particular consulate, you dont have a timeline started so have a hard time knowing what stage you are at in the process.

I can make a guess that you may be dealing with the consulate in Guangzhou from your VJ name having "China" I Highly recomend "A Candle for Love" for preparing for the guantlet at that consulate, the interview there can be particularly hard there. http://candleforlove.com

Also Please update your profile, and timeline with details, you have not filed for N/A and the foreign country is not N/A either. :help: us :help: you.

Thanks for the reminder to fill out my timeline. I guess I've felt like I don't quite belong yet because I'm in the process of gathering information to submit my I-129F and everyone else is so much further along. But I did fill out a timeline.

Actually, pretty far from China - Cuba. Problem is Cuba doesn't have an American embassy, just an "Interests Section" so there's no way for me to put that info into my timeline. Oh the woes of falling in love with the enemy...
