Hi. I would like to ask, what requirements did you provide for I-485? I got here as a tourist and met the love of my life. We don’t have joint bank accounts since a SSN is needed for that. All we have are pictures,  notarized letters from friends and families stating that we have a bonafide relationship, and a few cards that we got from our wedding. Does anybody have the same case as mine? Replies would be highly appreciated.

I arrived the same way and its possible to get more proof and I think you will need more proof for an easier interview. I did not have snn either and still do not have one (my interview is in 2 weeks), and we could get my name onto his bank acc and credit card at wells fargo and at chase. You can also get it on private health insurance. Sometimes it takes a bit of pushing without the snn depending on who you get, but it is completely possible.

get what you can, utility bills are easy to add on to, credit cards as authorized user, mail delivered to a common address in both names; it's common to not have much at first

We applied for a joint bank account from Bank of America. My husband included me into his life insurance. We had difficulty with utility bills as the company requires SSN.

Hey! On the same boat as you here..  The lease on our apartment includes me. I was able to open a bank account by myself without an SSN at bank of America, where I listed him as my POD beneficiary. We get mail in both of our names.  And that's it. Our utility bills are under his name because of the SSN.

Hi. What happens if my ID is expired? Is it too late to include me in her bank account?

What kind of ID are you holding? Consular Card or passport?  You should always have a valid ID on you.

Onto the bank account, I'd say ask your bank to add you.  I don't know at which step of the process are you, but whatever updated info you get between filing and the interview, bring it with you.

I only have my passport ID and it is currently expired. I cannot renew it as I am in the process of adjusting my status. It is the only I have since I only came here as a B2 visa tourist

You should be able to renew it at the consulate in San Francisco.  Mary did it in Mexico City and since it was a foreign post she was able to keep her old one.
