I have never been anything other than polite to you, as I strive to do in all my interactions with people. I am not sensitive to being addressed collectively as male, man or boy all are correct, none are offensive except in context.

I guess wimmens. Ol gal. Hey chick,  Darlin and Honey are all offensive now ?

How are we off-topic? Randy just now told you of his challenges being a man in a society that favors females.

And here I am in a society that favors females ... where I apparently am un-PC for using the terms "female" and "fairer sex." So, still on-topic.

This is why universities have female/gender studies programs, but ignore the other biological sex.

Well, generally mine are pretty good, at least I hope! (The "emotional affair" I apparently conducted and the Netflix usage aside.....)

I thought with all the discussion we've had on here recently about women and feminism and women's reproductive health, it might be a good opportunity to talk about gender expectations from another point along the spectrum, specifically the straight male as there seem to be quite a few of you in here. :) I purposely chose a provocatively titled article to get this going. I am not so sure I am a believer in toxic masculinity (and I happen to think it's an unhealthy term because it causes people to get mad rather than talk about things), but I think there ARE unrealistic expectations for men as there are for women, but men just don't seem to be able to talk about them as much as women. I say this as a straight woman who loves men, genuinely loves to be around them and talk to them and share my life with them. But I have also seen in both the men I love/have loved in my life how "traditional" expectations of what a man ought to be has caused them to shut down, or to be in genuine pain and feel unable to talk about it without risking their "man card."

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-to-fight-toxic-masculinity/

So talk to me. I don't bite! (Much  )

Finslly got around to reading the first page.  Even a little of the link to HER page.  While I agree with some of her “man box” stuff, it pretty much ended there for me.

Minus this site and one other, I mostly avoid sites like hers, or ANY site that tells me how miserable I should feel, how bad I am, or most sites negative towards any of the statuses in life that I maintain.  (Old, white, male, WP, etc.).   It’s great that she has an opinion, but I just don’t see the “toxic masculinity” issue.  Imagine if all men behaved as she must want them to about 300 years ago in America.  We’d still be kneeling before a queen...

Here is the thing. You cant undo millions of years of evolution and selection of the fittest.

You can try to reassign gender roles all you want but men are meant to be providers,  hunters, protectors etc. In the end wimmen are going to always go for the alpha male. Heck how many movies are out there, where in the beginning the prissy woman hates the toxic male but ends up falling in love with him.

African Queen comes to mind , but there are hundreds more.

Men and women evolve. Things that are 'meant' change. What is an alpha male? Can't stand such nonsense personally. A lot of men think they are something called an 'alpha male', reality is quite something different. Women often fall in love with toxic men and bad boys. They fall in love with a glamorized ideal. They turn out to be abusers, losers, and just downright incompatible. The ideal man that the woman pictures in her head or thinks she can change a man into, turns out to be just as silly as a man that thinks he is something he is not. We women as a species are very selective.. sometimes we should be especially cautious and selective. But that is how we women learn and evolve as a species, and with time hopefully teach our daughters to be equally as selective.

You just cant undo millions of years of genetic evolution in 30 years. Its like a dog circling before it lays down, a cat purring when contented.

Men are attracted to women with  ample bosoms and curvy hips for a reason.

Super models marry Alpha males like Trump and Alfkad for a reason.
