When it comes time to do the i 864 do i put down total gross income or the adjusted gross income on form?

The last couple years i was self employed and payed my own taxes but never had to pay always received a refund cause of amount of deductions and what i had held back towards federal payments.  I have tried looking at instructions and to me it is all jibberish and confusing i guess i am to stupid to understand even instructions.

Or may be don’t want to read all pages of the instructions. 😜

From i864 instructions Page 9.

For purposes of this affidavit, the line for Total Income on IRS Forms 1040 and 1040A will be considered when determining income. For persons filing IRS Form 1040 EZ, the line for adjusted gross income will be considered.
