Mumbai Embassy: Digital marriage certificate

Hi VJ,

My wife and I got married in Delhi and were issued an E-Marriage certificate. They made us sign a physical copy, scanned it, and then digitally signed it and sent us the PDF with digital signature.

We haven't had any issues so far with using photocopied copies of that e-certificate but I was curious if the Mumbai embassy is going to make us chase down an original or an official copy. Since the certificate has a PDF signature instead of a physical one, the original doesn't seem particularly significant. (We were able to verify our certificate is valid with their weird e-validate system and we have no concerns about the legitimacy of the certificate)

I tried emailing the embassy but without a NVC case number they won't even look at your email.

1) Do we need to get the original marriage certificate from the registry office? (We're interracial so trying to get any help from any government agency is always an annoying and time consuming process.)

2) OR Do we need to get an Apostille stamp issued from the MEA on our certificate?

Thanks for any advice :)
