If it was in downtown Denver where it is not actually allowed it would be a ####### moment, out in the boonies during hunting season not so much, not that I have ever seen anybody do so. Certainly seen Hunters go into a Cafe with their gund, what are you supposed to do, stack them outside?

It doesn't make tactical sense to open carry but it does let people know "That is someone not to be messed with".

I disagree.  If I was a bad guy looking to do some damage with a gun, and I see a person who was open carrying, that person would become my primary target.  But that's just my logic.

From everything I've seen and heard about the Denver PD over the years, I'd say Denver is not one of the places I'd recommend going to test how far your rights are recognized.

Went through it twice yesterday,  I know a lot of people who have been here longer than me and live down there and are not happy what Denver has become.

I am one of those people that open carry on Wal-Mart with my kids. I have gotten looks before from people that are not used to seeing a buff guy with a pistol pushing a baby

They freak out seeing an old fat one too

I hate going downtown nowadays. Which sucks, because that is where I work. Been thinking about transferring out somewhere in the suburbs for a while now.

I am fine with you concealed carrying btw, though I'd feel more comfortable to know that in order to obtain a gun and use it the person could be well trained and stable of body and mind. But have you ever thought that it isn't that people aren't 'messing with you' when you open carry, but people are actually uneasy and frightened you will snap and kill them and their kids at a moments notice? Because honestly.. if I saw someone walk into a walmart open-carrying, I would be running away as fast as possible and calling the police. It's the world we live in, you know?

And a lot of police officers aren’t too stable either and are quite trigger happy.

I would be more worried about having to man an almost 360 degree zone of constant heightened vigilance, because my open carry might attract, A. Folks wanting to relive me of the gun,  B. Antifa type nutso leftie psychopaths that might run up behind me and hit me with a brick, or someone is about to rob the place so they pull their concealed weapon and put a round in my forehead before I can react.

If  a bank has an armed security guard who do you think they are going to shoot first.

Unless George Thorogood was at the bank, they would take out the security first.

We had this mentally ill guy in the city supposedly shoot in the air at some officers or something. Bystanders took video of about 12 cops chasing his vehicle on foot and firing at it like a warzone. They ended up hitting innocent people in the process and terrifying people. Innocent person needed multiple surgeries.. guess the city will be paying for it.

I can certainly understand that perspective and it makes sense. I just hope that open-carriers understand the fear and unease they cause to the rest of the public who never know when a nutjob is going to shoot them.

I mean that is you though. Do you know if open carry is legal in MD? Because here in NC it is and I really don't get looked at when I go to either close Walmart, but I do get the looks when I go to the Triangle.

I do understand what people are thinking sometimes. That's why I like to look like the good father that I am.

Did you see what happened to the autistic man at a Costco in CA?

Another tragedy, I hadn’t read about that one. And Google Jose Guerena for a major screw up by cops. And they get away with it on a regular basis. I wouldn’t feel too secure if I had to rely on the cops as my only source of protection.

Basically the cop for pushed by the non-verbal autistic man, got pissed off and shot the man and the man's two parents.
