Hi! I just have a question. I'm preparing our forms and about to file AOS. May I ask what is "Employment Verification Letter"? Where should my husband get that? He's in the military. Thank you in advance!

Have his CO write it for him. That's what my husband did. Or more like my husband wrote it and his CO signed it. It's a letter to confirm that he works there.

Thank you! Is it necessary? Or his ITR's are fine? He's being deployed he can't process it right away tho

In AoS packet in September we sent this letter (from April though) and tax returns. We didn't send his pay stubs. If he really can't get it, just send pay stubs and tax returns and bring the letter to interview just in case. We had no RFE and I already went through the interview.

We sent my husband’s orders, Leave and Earning statements and his tax transcripts, and never received an RFE. I still have my interview coming up though.

For those of you that had interviews, what tips can you offer?

What questions were asked?

What documentation should we bring? I have mixed information, so just asking again.

We have our interview next month. For documentation, I’m bringing everything even the documents I submitted for the K1. Even though they should have everything, I would rather have everything and not need it, than need it and not have it. The letter you get for the interview tells you everything to bring. We are putting together a huge 3 ring notebook with tabs to organize everything.

Just go by the checklist they sent you in the invitation letter. She had everything we sent, I just gave her extra: my husband's deployment orders, pay stubs from July till December as we didn't send them with the petition, bank statements, car and health insurance, phone and electricity bills and 6 photos.

She only asked for photos and not the other "proof of marriage" stuff but when she asked if I have any questions I gave her all of those as I wanna make sure they have them.

She went through the I-485 petition, asked my and my husband's name and address. She asked when we got married and how did we meet. Those were the only questions about our relationship. Then she moved to those yes/no questions as mentioned before. Over all it took about 20 minutes, but most of the time it was just about the yes/no question as there are lot of them lol.

I went by myself as hubby is deployed but tbh I don't think it would really matter if he is there or not haha.

Our status changed today.  GC officially in the mail.  Almost at the finish line.  Looking forward to the 2 year break for some R&R.

Good luck to all others at various stages of the process.

One thing I wanted to add.  At one point in time a tracking number was ostensibly provided when a GC officially went out in the mail.  However, we have no tracking number for our case at this time.  All we know is the GC has been mailed.

Has the practice of using tracking numbers been discontinued?  Or is that provided ASAP after the status has changed indicating the GC is in the mail?  Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Hi, has anyone from Dallas that filed from the 20th of September been approved (EAD). I had my biometrics on the 16th of October, that was the last update.

I filed early September, biometrics October 23rd, still no EAD approval and my local office is Dallas :( I didn't think the local offices affected the EAD/AP but it seems to be slower here
