True, but I am starting to think they are lying about wait times at these offices. I even double checked today and it still shows 9.5-25 month wait time for family based petitions. So how is it possible that we filed in September and we got scheduled already🤔

I will say this... I saw several posts from you previously about a long wait for you and I held off saying anything.  I wanted to say NO HONKING WAY YOU WILL WAIT THAT LONG !!!  But I decided to hold off.

Now I can say it.  NO HONKING WAY YOU WILL WAIT THAT LONG !!!

I also posited in a prior post a few months ago that I think they put extended wait times out there to make them look like heroes when they schedule you a lot sooner.  It was just a hunch but now this sucker has legs.

Good luck, Zach!  🙂

Honestly, my wife and I have breezed through this immigration stuff. It hasn’t even been a year yet since I filed for the K1.

I truly think it's a a mix of being a case by case  basis and the officer who works on your case. Atlanta filed office was also like 10 months to a year wait and we have our interview in two weeks.. about 4 months after we applied. We even had an RFIE in between. But there are those in May & August, same field office who still haven't received their interview. I'm not even sure what their criteria is anymore.

You should definitely be fine. A lot of people who get early interviews don't usually get their EAD. So I suggest getting whatever you have with both your names on it.

You should be able to put him as an authorized user on your credit card, have pictures of your wedding and with each others families. You can even get your mom to write a letter about the authenticity of your marriage. Collect mail with his name and your address.

My interview is in 3 weeks and is only 4 months after we applied. I just plan on explaining if they ask. There have been many others in the same situation of not having a lot because of the states restrictions with needing an EAD for most things, just go with all that you have and you should be fine.

I have Discover and I called them and they said he needs a SSN which we weren't able to get at any office here so we're having to wait for the EAD for that. We're currently on our honeymoon (I'm a college student so we have to plan around my breaks) so we'll have plenty of pictures from that and our wedding. Just paranoid we'll get someone super strict who will give us a hard time

Wells Fargo will give you bank account even without SSN, does he have SSN or not? I don't have US drivers license either but at least the paper shows both of our names.

Could your mom add both of you on her bills?

He doesn't have SSN. There's not a WF in my area, but I'm considering asking the bank to write a letter saying why he can't be added to my bank account. I pay the rent, so I have copies of checks from that but it's from my bank account that doesn't have his name on it, so I might write up a rental agreement and have the 3 of us and our landlord sign it.

Funny story (to not say something else):

USCIS responded my inquiry to fix my name on the EAD application the day after they mailed my combo card. They even said that, if it's wrong on the card, I'll have to mail it back, and they're gonna check if it was their mistake or my mistake before issuing a new one.

Still waiting on my letter, hoping it comes tomorrow! Did they lose your birth certificate?
