We are happy to get the EAD in a little under 4 months because our interview wait time is almost up to 2 years at our local office. We are actually hoping our interview doesn’t get scheduled until almost the 2 year mark because I believe that means we can skip the ROC process (I could be wrong on that assumption). So we are probably one of the only couples not rushing this process lol. We are like take your sweet time since my wife can now work and travel anyway.

Yeah my husband and I aren't stressing on the green card as long as he gets his EAD quickly. All he cares about right now is getting a driver's license (which requires an EAD in my state) and working.

Hi there, for us it was 28 days between biometrics at San Jose, CA to the “ready to be scheduled” notification. My understanding is that this phase happens at the national benefits center in Missouri, so it’s roughly similar for most applicants, unless there’s a delay due to RFEs etc.

Of course from that point it may be 7 months to a year for the actual interview here in SJ or even longer for SF(sigh). Apparently LA and SD applicants get interviews much faster so if you’re in Pasadena you may be better off than those of us in the Bay Area. Best of luck to everyone!

Thank you so much for your reply. I hope processing for all of us will be faster ❤️

Just got our interview notice in the mail for January 30th. No change for EAD yet.

How many days it took to get notice in mail after the update online?

We just got the notice today. Dated (and updated online) for December 26th. And the interview is on January 30th. So it takes around 4 days to get the notice after it's scheduled, and it's scheduled for a month after you get it.

After a long time of having no movement, got the dreaded RFE notification today. Will be patiently (not so patient) waiting for the letter to arrive. Hoping it’s an easy fix!

Hi folks!

So my interview (marriage-based AOS) is scheduled for the last week of January, and I have a few small queries from experienced members:

1)The interview letter says 'don't bring children'. But I have been reading on some forums that many couples actually went with their child/children. We have a few-month-old infant. Should we go for the interview without the baby but carrying baby-related documents such as birth certificate and SSN card?

2) The letters explains what all documents we need to carry, but is there an inclusive list of documents we should carry we can find on this forum or elsewhere. Grateful if you could any link/s.

3) Are we supposed to carry a copy of entire adjust of status package (many dozens of pages) application that we sent them at the beginning, or just the documents/proofs accompanying that application?

Thank you, as always, for your help and having a very informative and helpful discussion here.
