Oh wow you are a May 2018 K1 filer too, why was the long time frame between your NOA2 and your interview did you run into problems at SLEC? We sure did among other things anyway glad that part is over.

yeah I was held for two months because of sputum at slec. Good thing it was negative, smooth sailing after that. :) I do remember you Sarge, i am glad your fiance/wife is here in the US now too. I remember it was a long waiting for noa2 for you guys.

Hey all!

Got my ‘Ready to be scheduled for an interview!’ How long does it usually take to get an appointment date? And do they give you a decision on the day of the interview? What happens after the interview? is there any info or website I can find this info on what to expect at the interview and what to bring along?

Thanks!

You will get a letter telling you what you need to bring, as far as the time frame it depends on your local  field office.

Got my ‘Ready to be scheduled for an interview!’ How long does it usually take to get an appointment date? It varies from local field office (LFO) to LFO. And do they give you a decision on the day of the interview? They can, though is seems that from what I have been reading from the AOS forums, currently they seem to be stalling giving you an answer anywhere from a day to a week, or more if there is an RFE What happens after the interview? You wait until your phone text device to go crazy with all kinds of differing and conflicting messages.  is there any info or website I can find this info on what to expect at the interview and what to bring along? The ACS Appointment sheet has a check-off list that is useful. We took the list quite literally and brought every shred of paper that we sent/received from USCIS throughout our visa journey.  It was a good thing, during the interview, the IO asked to see the my divorce decree, claiming that it wasn't in the file (of course, I had previously sent in a copy, oh so many months ago, during the K1 Petition phase of the visa process). I quickly pulled out the original (in a plastic presentation page saver sleeve) and a color laser printed copy. I asked him to compare the copy and original and keep the copy if necessary. He kept the copy. That little maneuver likely saved us from a RFE. Be prepared at your interview, you just don't know what they may ask of you.

Thanks!

Here is a list of possible questions: https://www.visajourney.com/content/exampleq/

Good luck on your immigration journey.

So far what I saw here is that the date for the changed status is Thursday. Would make sense as NVC did the same thing, sending out K1 cases to embassies the same days of the week

I don't know how much stock I would put into that. Our AOS interview was on a Monday and the IO said that he had just received our file ten minutes prior to our scheduled appointment. Of course, that was the same comment he used when he said that he couldn't give an approval on the spot, instead saying that he would have to review our answers and review the file. Later on that evening, my phone text service exploded with "In review," "card being produced," "decision forthcoming." We took two out of three texts and assumed that we were approved. The cards showed up 11 days later.  YMMV.

Congrats, that's amazing!!!

Although just because he just received, doesn't mean it wasn't laying around in the office for while. It is just my opinion and observation from this thread, I could be totally wrong!

Again it's just my observation and I'll happily watch other updates once they received their case status to change and see if it's actually true 😊
