Hi folks! Your opinion needed: So it’s been exactly a month since my status remains “Fingerprint Review Was Completed on October 8th“. Does this mean the scope of receiving an RFE has passed, or I can still receive it? I have seen here some of you already having your status changed to “ready for interview etc.” I am wondering whether mine should also change to that or there is still a chance I can receive an RFE. Just little worried.

it all depends on your local office. you can still receive an RFE after the interview, although it is rare

Hi all,

We had our biometrics recently, and the online "egov" case status finally updated a week after,  it states that fingerprint review was completed on the same day as the biometrics.

So for those waiting after bio, give it a week, though some folks see a status update within 24 hours. We called USCIS and their systems showed the completed review before the egov website, they said that the online updates can be slow.

I assume this means the FBI fingerprint identity history check was complete. Looking online they also do something called an "FBI name check", which seems to be non-fingerprint based. This seems to be the slow part. And I guess they'll check for missing docs/issue RFEs.

Does anyone know if all of this checking still happens at the national benefits center in Missouri? Or at this point if the case has been transferred to the local office?

Just trying to understand if the delay between bio and "ready for interview scheduling" happens at the same pace for everyone, or if at this point we're at the mercy of our slow local office.

Best of luck to all!

As of 7th of November our status changed to Ready to schedule for interview.... YAY

Question: Does that mean they went through our file and chance for RFE is  lower now?

As of 7th November our case also went to "Ready To Schedule For Interview". Bio was on October 16th. What I think is happening (I'm not 100% sure), but I surmise that once the fingerprinting reviews have been finished /completed at the (NBC Missouri) and then the status changes to Ready To Schedule Interview I think at that time the cases are forwarded to the respective local field office. As we all know from the K1 stage at NVC that cases can and are moved around either electronically and or by mail/courier. I do assume and think that the fingerprint check and background checks are done at NBC and then all that data is forwarded to your local field office where the interview will be taking place. I am sure someone will correct me if my train of thought is suspect! That's my take on it.

Our status changed to Ready To Schedule Interview also 7th November but I don't think it puts us in the clear for a RFE as they can even come during the interview!

That would make sense. That would also mean that RFEs can still come from the field office.

Just want to caution everyone although we are happy our cases show movement to the next status level we could still be in for a long ride between ready to schedule and scheduled depending on the local field office. I think this stage is where the cases split off and they become different meaning my case might take 10 months and your might take 6 months.

We are happy yes very happy, but don't get to overly consumed by this status update. Again we do hope it's sooner than later!!!!!

Oh wow you are a May 2018 K1 filer too, why was the long time frame between your NOA2 and your interview did you run into problems at SLEC? We sure did among other things anyway glad that part is over.
