Statuses are a hit or miss.  For example, our K1 Case still says last updated 11/21/2018 as "Case Was Received", he is now my husband and we have filed for AOS.  It goes to show you, they are 50/50. ;)

I just received an e-mail that our case is ready to be scheduled for an interview. Now we wait for many more months before the case actually gets scheduled for an interview

Two questions:

1. Just had one 0of our 131 returned because it was not signed. Oops. Don't think we will take the trip in any case. So would it hurt to just let it drop?

2. Our biometrics was 31 Oct. Once it goes to "Ready for Interview"

     a. How much time does it take? Is that the 3 to 5 months?

     b. Is it possible to change the interview location??

thanks All

for number 2, yes, this is the long wait, you should receive the ready to be scheduled for interview roughly a month after biometrics if there is no RFE

i think only if you move, or they reassign it can the location be changed

RoC sent 10/30/21

NOA 11/16/21

Check Cashed 11/18/21

Biometrics Waived 01/19/2022

2. So my status changed to ready to interview, however, it can stay like that for months, possibly even a year. It depends on your designated office processing times. The processing  times for my office is 11.5-23.5 months. Hence why the EAD/AP is so important. I have seen people change their location, but I am not sure how that works.

Yeah, I didn’t expect it so soon

Just out of curiosity, did you receive any texts, emails or see a change in your status online so you knew it was coming already?  Or did you just go to your mailbox and there it was?

I certainly hope it's something with a quick turnaround for you.
