Great to hear!! 😊

Out of curiosity, what does the status say now? Mine still says "case was received"

Ours changed to “fingerprints review completed” for the AOS and EAD. I know it is still a long way to go, but hoping that for EAD it means it will be here quicker.

Random question: Will coloring your hair or changing hairstyle affect AOS after biometrics? We are both considering going platinum, but wouldn’t want that to affect us. Obviously, we would change it back to our dark colors before the interview.

We jsut got our Biometrics appointment in the mail today.

Because we live on an island in SE Alaska, we must fly to the ASC in Anchorage at a cost of $500 each.

I was thinking of possibly trying to reschedule a month later to Seattle just because  we could combine with with something else.

Any thoughts, ranging from:

Stupid idea, why take any chances for a delay?

Great idea, won't slow up the process at all?

You never know what you don't know??

I had my ASC biometrics today at 11am. The security only allowed me, beneficiary, into the building. If you can plan for the beneficiary only to attend (uber to and from the airport etc.) It may save you a great deal without having to delay. The total time I spent (in and out) was 1hr. I took only what was listed (passport and the appointment letter). Just a thought.

Gets worse.

In actually looking plane tickets, it's $625 each times 2 for her and her son.

if i delay it 4 weeks, it's $498.

Just to test a theory, we went to SSA today armed with qualifying documents, to see if I might stumble upon an agent that would know their POM.

We tried to get my wife's  SS card changed over to her married  name without an EAD. You guessed it no dice, without an EAD or GC. One of my wife's  friends was able to get hers done in NJ without an EAD or GC we are in Texas. I kinda figured  we would get turned away,  but I had to do it just to not be in the dog house. So we are in it until EAD time. Just thought I pass this little tidbit off to you all.

That's interesting! I live in Texas and went to the SSA office in Tyler maybe a week or so after getting married and had no trouble at all getting a new SS card with my new married name. This was in early September. The fellow said it needed to wait on some verification and asked if I had changed my name with immigration, I told him I'd filed my AOS paperwork and was waiting for them to receive it. My new card showed up in a couple weeks!
