Just a tidbit for those of you married to a Filipino do not forget to process  your Report of Marriage ROM within a year or you will get penalized. The ROM is not compulsory but if you don't  do it ur spouse will NEVER be able to get her Filipino passport in her married name.

I should have said married to a Filipina! Many cultural norms I must learn, but on the same hand many my Filipina has to learn also, but it's  all good and somewhat fun!!

I am from Pensacola, Florida and I was able to get a drivers license that is REAL ID compliant less than a month of my arrival as K1 and before my marriage. The license has one year validity. I was told that once I got my greencard, I will be given a license with longer validity date.

Wow good deal for you!

My fiancé had his biometrics today. Thought we were processed by Santa Ana office but instead were assigned the one in El Monte in Los Angeles county.  The place was full and it took an hour to be done. He just needed his appointment letter and passport.

What can we expect in terms of the interview date? Are we looking at months from now? We are trying to mesh our finances and getting his name on bills and insurances as proof for the greencard interview but some of this is taking longer than I expected.

Depends on your Local Field Office. You can check both USCIS processing time for your LFO and also statistics on VJ (which can be a way more positive though) :)

Biometrics are done at the closest Application Support Center/Office. In my case, my local office is Hartford, CT, but my biometrics were in Port Chester, NY, which is not an office.

In your case , El Monte is a Support Center, and probably closer to your home address. But it doesn't mean that's where your interview is gonna take place

Done with my biometrics yesterday. The waiting game officially starts! Hopefully the EAD card will come sooner. I really want to start looking for jobs 😊

Biometrics  done yesterday  10/16 status changed to "Fingerprint review was completed." Status was changed  exactly 24 hours after Biometrics was completed.

Done with biometrics!  Quick and easy!  Didn't even ask for marriage certificate or anything, just the letter and the passport as ID.  Woot!  Hoping the status changes by tomorrow and let the wait begin!

Thanks.

And of course it was (NOA1) in the mailbox just an hour ago.

Thanks all for the moral support.
