So should I have any ID on my married name for biometrics? I'm confused now) My passport is still on my maiden name, as well as my dependent ID. I couldn't get  dependent  ID on my married name because they said I need more than one document stating my new last name even though my SSN card is on it.

Just take your marriage certificate with you. That's what I did. They take the NOA, your passport and the marriage certificate to cross the names. I couldnt get my military ID in my married name for the same reasons as you. I'll be changing everything after I receive my GC

Its policy a DOD DEERS policy they have to issue the dependent ID in whatever name  the SSN is listed as. I never knew that, it's a good thing her card came in today because I would not have  been able to get her ID without a SSN. What a lucky  shot. So my wife's ID is in her maiden name too. Easy to fix though with a SSN, Driver License, passport or a state ID in the married  name. So yes after the GC. The main thing is  we got the SSNs and dependent IDs. Good going guys.

Ok. I have one more question...I've just realized I didn't put A number on my I-485. Can that be a problem??

I suppose  if they wanted to be pains in the %$$ they could give you a hard time but the A number is also on your NOA2, if they would look there.

Whew, okay, I saw the charge come in to my card last night. Only took 13 days after they received the package to get to this point! But hey, at least I know they received it and can start processing it at some point. We can relax more now.

Very cool yes do try to relax now!

DEERS gave me a temporary Dependent ID with a temporary SSN, so I have to go back once I receive my EAD to get my permanent dependent ID. Or is it after GC? I can’t remember! Anyways, happy that your lady is able to get her ID now and received her SSN card! Good stuff.

Temporary I never heard of that. I'm not sure I follow you on that.

Have you guys heard about the new health insurance policy that is supposed to be taking effect next month for everyone that has interviews after Nov 3rd 2019? Where they will require us health insurance card?

nope

but realistically your spouse should be covered under your insurance asap anyway so its a moot point. it was literally the first thing i did after returning to work after the marriage was to add her to my insurance

RoC sent 10/30/21

NOA 11/16/21

Check Cashed 11/18/21

Biometrics Waived 01/19/2022

I thought that it was supposed apply only for people who applied after that date. Also it's not set in stone yet so it might not take effect. But I agree that if you bring your spouse over here, they should be insured.

Exactly. This is for people seeking Visas I think it read  not for everyone interviewing after November 2nd. It will be used to deny Visas  not green cards! Anyway who knows with the current  administration crumbling by the day many of the so called polices will crumble too.
