The article has nothing to do with Trump. USCIS's fight is with congress as it claims it needs funding to continue pre-covid days. You just got to love the Trump bashing from the news organizations.

If you submitted your paperwork then your in line to be processed and you are still legal to be in the US. I wouldn't advise leaving the states till all this gets sorted out.

Thank you.

I honestly don’t get into the politics.  I just wanted to make sure nothing would change as far as him all of the sudden becoming illegal, but my concerns have been answered.  We wouldn’t leave the USA, since we want to make it our home, unless it is an illegal situation, in which we would abide by the rules of leaving so we could have the opportunity to come back without any issues.

From what I can gather, it seems as long as we have all the proofs of the case being pending, etc., we shouldn’t be concerned.

Oh, I didn’t mean to ask for politics. I don’t get into that either. I meant as far as what could mean for this entire process for those of us waiting. If my husband doesn’t get the EAD/AP renewal or the GC by February, does it mean he would be illegal in 2021? 😕

I know you did not ask, I was just stating that I did not want to comment on the article you posted.  @Letspaintcookies has gave you a very good answer, I hope that helps somewhat.

I just received I-797C notification mail for my EAD/AP renewal. Based on this document https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Verification/I-9 Central/FactSheets/Fact-Sheet-AutoExtendEAD.pdf
the receipt notice should include the Category# which in my case I am renewing under C9. There's nothing on the I-797C receipt that tells me anything about the category. Does this mean I dont get automatic 180 days extension?

These are the two I-797C I have received.

I don't think that's the NOA for the forms. Have you followed the instructions on the notice? Check if you can find your NOA in their website.

yeah I am not really sure if those are the NOA's. I have followed the instruction on the notice and have created and added those cases to their website.

I am only seeing these documents attached. Those two are the same ones Ive attached above.

Did you get an actual case number? Starting with MSC or IOE?

Yes I received two case number, both starting with IOE.

Maybe you're still going to receive the letter mentioning the extension. If you don't receive anything, call USCIS.

Where did you mail your forms?

Its been 7 months since filing for GC,nothing yet.. getting annoyed.. anyone getting interviews these days?
(medical expired)

I've been stuck on ready to be schedules. For some reason i got two notifications one in february and then april. I'm hoping they just get us approved.

I'm in SF as well.

Luckily I was able to get my EAD just in time before everything went down. Can't even imagine expecting EAD around now and still getting nothing.

I got an email once that my status changed, but when I check my status, nothing has changed. I don't know what's going on..
