We are still waiting on ours. Got AP and EAD back in February. Also, we got “ready to be scheduled for interview” since February but no word.  There is hearsay about GC processing being on hold for a while and being resumed (or possibly not? Or never were on hold?).

Same, got EAD and AP back in February.. nothing is happening ever since. Checked processing time on USCIS and I see now that is faster than before (now its 7.5 months to 29 months in CA) but nothing with our case. Hoping something changes next month! 🙏

Its been 7 months since filing for GC,nothing yet.. getting annoyed.. anyone getting interviews these days?
(medical expired)

You should be aware of what coronavirus did to the USCIS offices. So people aren't getting interview since march.

Your medical is not expired as long as you filed for aos within one year of the date of the medical.

We are Sep 2019 filers and stuck on "waiting for interview", but fortunately were granted the EAD in December. Is it easy to file for an extension of the EAD if we are still waiting on an interview? If so, how early do we need to file? My wife's EAD expires in December so we have plenty of time but we want to make sure that we will be able to extend it if we don't have an interview before then. Thank you.

You just need to send EAD and AP forms again. On the EAD form you will change to renewal.

You can do it as early as 180 days before it expires.

any experience what happened to those who were nearing the end of their EAD/AP card validity during covid?

were they auto-approved for the greencard without an interview?

I think we still have 5 months before the cards expire, so just checking what to expect...

There's nothing to expect, you'll have to apply for an extension.

it is very well described here, how to proceed with an extension.

what I asked is experience from those who neared the 1 year period. I've heard some were approved without interviews, so wanted to find out if that was the rule or just the lucky exception.

There is no rule behind. The approvals without interview most likely happened because of Corona. There is no indicator that it had anything to do whit the length of the waiting.

We had our green card interview originally scheduled April 13th but was of course cancelled due to COVID. Checking the Case Status online, it still indicates our original interview. Has anyone been given a new interview date yet? I'm worried with news of USCIS furloughs and lack of funding that we will won't be rescheduled for months. Just checking in with others who might be in the same situation!

With the expected delays, would you say it is better to apply closer to the 180 days before the expiration date for the extension? Just to make sure enough time is in place to accommodate what the new waiting times can be. Ours would expire on January-February, we we want to know whether we should apply for an extension by August-September.  Our GC is nowhere in sight.

I honestly have no idea. I'm only waiting for my name change court order approval to apply for it again. Technically I can apply tomorrow. Idk how it works though if the new card gets approved before the other ones expires.

I would apply on the 4/5 months mark. The NOA 1 will also be an extension so you should be good.

Hey everyone, Our interview was set for April 7th but was also cancelled, still no new schedule. We are in Portland OR.
I just applied for EAD and AP renewal at the 6 month mark because my combo card expires December of this year (2020). I just received NOA1 text message and case number starts with IOE, does  anyone know what that means?

Thank you!
