K1 Interview: Divorce Decress - E-Certified

Hi All, 

 

Quick question in relation to whether e-certified copies of divorce decrees are acceptable for the interview.  My Fiance (USC) got an electronic certified copy of his divorce decree emailed to him from the district court where it happened.  Will this be acceptable or do they require like the raised seal/stamp?

 

Any info will be helpful.

Never heard of an electronic verified divorce decree. I would think they would want a raised seal to prove it is not faked.

Yeah apparently its a thing now where you just input the details on the district courts site and the clerk signs and stamps it and scans it.  It looks legitimate and the guy at the court said it should be accepted everywhere I'm just unsure if its acceptable by the consulates etc.

Are you sure a certified copy of the USCs divorce is required for your interview?

This is what Ireland is requesting for the interview concerning divorce records and this information came straight from their P3 letter.

 

Applicants who have been previously married must obtain evidence of the termination of EACH prior marriage. Evidence must be in the form of original documents issued by a competent authority, or certified copies bearing the appropriate seal or stamp of the issuing authority.

Acceptable evidence is a:

 

1.  FINAL divorce decree
2.  Death certificate, or
3.  Annulment.

 

For further help there is a thread that has some discussion about the Embassy procedure there in Ireland.

Oh,  so the divorce papers are referring to me? If I had been previously married - they dont want his (usc)?

It says "applicant " , the USC is not the applicant

No it says "applicants".
