It’s much quicker if the USC files for the step-child. Takes 12-14 months. Do you have permission from the child’s other parent to permanently remove the child from your home country?

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Thats good just making sure she was under 18 at the time of your marriage. I would disagree with the above poster that the USC filing is much quicker. For example if you look at the processing times at Vermont (https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/) you will see the LPR petitions are being processed faster than USC. (1-6months faster) The F2A visa category is current so she wouldn't need to wait (unless something changes)

Something will change, the visa bulletin that changed F2A to current cautioned it wouldn’t last. If it goes back to the more normal 2 years then it’s not faster at all. And it could easily have done that by the time it is processed. Note that the next bulletin will be for the new fiscal year, when the quota will reset and the justification for the below falls away.

From the July VB:

D.  FAMILY-SPONSORED SECOND PREFERENCE VISA AVAILABILITY

F2A: This category has become "Current" for July, and is expected to remain so through September. This action has been taken in an effort to generate an increased level of demand. Despite the large amount of registered F2A demand, currently there are not enough applicants who are actively pursuing final action on their case to fully utilize all of the available numbers under the annual limit.

Once large numbers of F2A applicants do begin to have their cases brought to final action, it will be necessary to establish a date in an effort to control number use within the annual limit.  Therefore, readers should be aware that this “Current” status will not continue indefinitely, but it is not possible to say at present how soon corrective action will be required.

Although F2A is current, the USCIS service centers are processing such petitions slower.

Any idea what documents should I send. I was thinking birth certificate of USC and marriage certificate alone.

Also do I need to send for I846 (Affidavits of support) with it?

Thanks

You send the required documents per the petition instructions.

I864 is not sent with the petition
