sept 11 for us. it’s really disheartening. trying to stay positive but it’s honestly so hard at times. all this mess going on in the world and you just want to be with your spouse and can’t be... it’s a bit unfair, ya know?

Yep I feel exactly the same way. I hate to be throwing myself a pity party but I flew back at the end of February to apply for my Ukraine extension visa in New York. As I was waiting for my new passport they closed the Ukrainian embassy and cancelled all the flights. So I've been stuck living with my parents for the first time in over 10 years, away from all my stuff which is back in Ukraine and of course my wife.

Then a week after all this bad news happened, I find out my wife is pregnant and I can't even watch her go through the process and being there to help with everything. It's been very frustrating to say the least.

while our situations may not be the same, i do understand your frustration.

i visited my wife at the end of february, not knowing it would be the last time. i had planned to travel back over next month but now that won’t be happening. unfortunately with the way my job schedules leave, i’m unable to take vacation again until october. we’ve never gone more than 4 months without seeing one another despite the distance. i know i am lucky for this but it’s all relative, isn’t it?

i think one of the hardest things is feeling like no one really understands. friends and family say, “oh, i can’t imagine how hard it must be for you” but then that’s the end of the conversation. i know they mean well but still...

i wish you luck going forward. i hope all of this craziness subsides soon, for the world and for us. we will get there soon enough.

oh, and congrats on the baby! 👶

My case got updated twice today. However it's not good news after 8 months of waiting they have asked me for addition evidence but they didn't properly upload their document to the website. I asked the live chat agent about this and she said oh yea it happens you'll just have to wait a few weeks to see how it goes and if you can see the document then. This process is super annoying.

Thank you! We got married June 2019 and filed the petition last week of August 2019.

I’m sure your papers will get approved soon! 🤞🏻 I was super sad today thinking about the status of our application (esp since most had date changes and ours didn’t), and then this! So just hang in there! 😉

Congratulations ❤️ This gave me so much hope. Our PD is Oct 1st and we didn’t have any date changes either which was making me quite worried

That was one of my major concerns before - that there were no date changes. Looks like it doesn't matter much.

Thank you! Stay strong, IOE applications are for sure being processed! Soon you'll have yours approved! 🙂

Trump is about to announce the suspension of immigration to U.S. for 60 days, will this affect us ?

This is exactly what I've been wondering. I've heard some things about only non-family visas being suspended, but I'm not sure if they're true. Are they suspending all visas including spouses??

This suspension and limitation of this proclamation shall not apply to the spouse of United States citizen and any alien who is under 21 years old and is the child of a United States citizen, or who is a prospective adoptee seeking to enter the United States pursuant to the IR-4 or IH-4 visa classifications.

I’m hoping this can speed up the usc spouse petitions etc !

Ideally it should speed up things.

Trump’s proclamation would cut immigration by 33%.
