You need to meet her. If your plan is to be married and living in the states together you either need to:

-go meet her, get engaged and file for k1 and hope the 1 visit was enough proof

-go meet her, get married, file cr1 &comingle your finances

A tourist visa is for the purpose of visiting the US so if that isn’t the plan, then you have one of the 2 above options.

So I read through the guides, but it seems unlikely that she could ever get a K-1 to come here since we have never met in person. :(

Exactly.  You would have to meet first.

Thankfully, there is no legal avenue for you to bring her here on an immigrant visa without meeting her in person first.  You must meet in person to pursue either the K-1 or CR-1 avenue.   Even marrying on first meeting or filing a K-1 after a single brief in-person meeting might make your immigration journey more difficult, as it is difficult to prove you have a real relationship with such little in-person interaction.

Not to be presumptuous, but do ask yourself whether this is the right path at this time.  Both options require marriage, which is a serious personal and legal commitment.  Depending on your state, she might be entitled to half of your assets were you to divorce.

For a K-1 visa, you must meet first .  For a spousal visa, you must meet first and marry.  If she was to get a visitor visa (which is unlikely), she could not use it to enter the US, marry you, and stay...........My point is that you need to travel to meet her.....somewhere outside the US.

I don’t know if you are being a smart guy or not, but that’s pretty funny!

I mean which US Visa is the easiest and best one for her to get? I was under the assumption she could just get a general one that allows her to just move here, but apparently that’s not an option. Is there any other way?

Your question was funny.

Want her to move to the US?  Get married over there and file a petition for her. Go see her and get engaged over there,  file a fiance petition for her then marry her within 90 days of entry then adjust her status based on your marriage.

Girlfriends dont qualify for immigration.

That would mean we would need to be married first, right? Would we get married in Indonesia or the US? And how do I marry someone when they don’t even live here?

We married in Indonesia.

So for anyone who cares, here’s an update.

She went to the US Embassy in Indonesia and they explained everything to her. Her best method is a K-1 Visa (which many of you said) and there are a few requirements for that. We need to provide proof that we have been together for two years and we need to visit each other at least once.

We both decided that even though we have only been together for about a month, we will work to be together for two years and I will visit her sometime next year. Thank you for all your help and advice!

She misunderstood.  There is no requirement to have been together for 2 years for a K1......The requirement is that you must have met within 2 years before filing the K-1.
