getting ready for the affidavit of support..

I did read the guide, and I was hoping you all out there could probably point me in the right direction.

I still haven't got anything, but I've always learned to be prepared for the worst and hope for the best.

At any rate, I have an income based off of commission.. so my income could be anywhere from 12,000- 20,000 a year.

I'm not sure where the poverty line is.. or even where to find information to calculate that.

So automatically I'm going to get a co sponsor, because theres noo way that i can get my james over here on my income alone.

My other concern is that I'm going to have my mom/dad be my co sponsor. My mom alone makes close to 90,000 usd a year, however, she has the most terrible credit. Would that be a factor?

And also, can there be more than one co sponsor?

I think they only look at income and not credit.

They don't even ask about credit or for a credit report so don't worry. I went to my bank and got someone to write a letter attaching averages of my deposits for my checking and savings accounts over the past year and when the accounts were opened. So if you decide to not have a co-sponsor I think it would be a good idea. Also, if you have any stocks you could put a summary sheet of your accounts and balances. Just a thought. Good luck

lol, im only 20 years old.. i dont have much. Just my income and my car as an asset.. haha
