Are you sure about this? I read somewhere if the my husband's father 's income is sufficient we don't need his mother to sign i864a coz we are not using her income? Know of anyone with similar experience ?

You don't need I864a if they don't file tax jointly. if they do they need to fill up I-864a and send W2 form if not you will get RFE or they will ask you to upload in your interview and that will delay your visa.

So u got this as a query or u did it in the first go ? Also I believe if NVC clears it we are good? Why will they question at the interview.

We are still waiting for their response..but yes they did accept it without i864a for L and H

They might missed it and Embassy will ask. it happens all the time.

If you completed Form I-864, I-864A, or I-864EZ submit an IRS tax transcript from the most recent tax year, which NVC can process more efficiently than a copy of a tax return.  Alternatively, you may submit a copy of a tax return from the most recent tax year.

If you filed jointly: If you filed taxes under the “married filing jointly” category, you must also submit your Form(s) W-2 or schedules(s) from the most recent tax year.

There doesn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason. I would like to believe that maybe they try and review cases that had much longer processing times at USCIS first, but I doubt that is the case.

Could be the case, I just can't see them being that considerate.

Could be those embassy that they are tied to need more work so they get bumped forward. That's my theory. You wouldn't want idle employees when they are efficient and there's plenty of work in the pipeline.

Possibly, though I'm guessing the officers have plenty of duties beyond that and they could even be reviewing the work of other embassies remotely or electronically.

I do, too! I submitted the last documents on July 27 and still have heard nothing while some other people submitted on July 29 and got a reply a week ago. I asked the woman I spoke to at the NVC point blank if there are separate queues for reviewing documents because some are getting reviewed more quickly than others and she said no and that they are reviewed in date received order. That is clearly a load of rubbish.

Here's hoping we get get some CCs on this thread this week! Good luck everyone!

I submitted on the 11th of August so I kind of straddle weeks. So for counting purposes I just consider myself to have submitted on the 12th. I've seen quite a few situation where the person got checked and then rechecked within a week both times. A few people recently even got checked within a day.

I did try to work it out at one point. See if the person with a faster document check time was expedited or part of the military or whatever. No pattern. All I could think is perhaps a similar name and an employee got mixed up or they personally liked something about the case or had a connection to it somehow even if no actual connection existed. Like they had a spouse or friend from the same country, liked a character from fiction with that nationality or something.

It's clearly not done in the order it was received that's demonstrably false. I mean if everything was taking consistently long for everyone that's one thing but it's a tad annoying when certain people seem to be very lucky. Not just for their initial submission but in situations where they have to resubmit.

I've called a few times and have been able to get through. Last thing I was told is that they're currently taking 4 to 5 weeks to check because they have a high volume, but they're trying to get it back to 3 weeks I don't blame those who work there and try to be nice and understanding but it is a bit frustrating. Part of the issue is I'm worried some document will get rejected for some stupid or arbitrary reason or employee error, despite being paranoid and checking and double-checking everything.

Is all depend by who review your case on nvc . You can be all good at nvc , but I am pretty sure at the interview they gonna ask you for I-864a. Is better to be safe than sorry . I submit mine i-864 without an I-864a because I was thinking the same way that my co sponsor make enough and I don't need the household member even though they file jointly . A week later after I send , I came to this website to ask for advice and one of the best advicer( pursk) sorry if I am wrong abt spelling the name , told me to submit I-864a, and he said that won't delay my case because nvc didnt review it yet . I submit it the same day at night . Now I am waiting for my IL. I got case complete on June 27.Good luck on your journey

W2 is only required if they file tax married jointly if not tax transcript is enough.
