okay Good luck... praying for your DQ soon

Hi I am applying for my mom dad too. Did you have to send their photos to NVC by any chance? I don’t see it listed on NVc website but I see some members here sending scanned passport sized photos?

Hi all! We are currently waiting for our case number and NVC received our case from Nebraska (Cr1) in August 26th.

Maybe this question is answered anywhere in the tread(s), but I couldn’t find it when I had a quick look.

My husband just relocated to the US from Europe where he lived for a few years. He filed his taxes here and everything is in order (he recently filed for 2018 since he had and extension). My question relates to if we still need a sponsor or if he’s income is enough since he started to work in the US last week. He’s income is well above the poverty guidelines but I wasn’t sure if the income is qualified since he just started (even if the salary is enough). Are there any requirements on how long you need to have had an income in the States? Living abroad he also had a good income if they want to look at the full year. He finished up a few weeks before he started this new job to have some time for relocating.

Should we send in his contract and the first payslip(s)? I really want to have everything in order and fully prepared since I’m pregnant and would love to be done before it’s time for delivery.

If needed his mom will sponsor us. If my husbands parents files jointly, do we need documents from his dad too or only documents from the sponsor?

Thanks!

Trying to fill out DS-260 with as much information as I have now. I will save it and complete tomorrow rest of it.

EDIT: NVC updated the DS-260 sample PDF just in case if you guys have not seen it.

Few Questions:

1. Mother Name: I understand that it is asking for Surname (last name) at birth. However, what should be the Given name? a) Her Current Name with Husband's Name or b) Her Name with Her Father's name

2. Primary Occupation - My wife was working until 3rd week of August. She quit work as she needs to study for couple of exams which she needs to give as soon as she gets to USA. Should I Put "Not Employed". I will put the occupation she is intending to work and list all the jobs she had in next page.

3. Passport Size Photo - I received digital photo in email and cropped 2x2 Photo out of it. I also printed the photo to PDF on 8.5x11 page. I am not sure which one to upload as nothing is mentioned in NVC website.

Petitioner Documents:

I-864EZ

2016-2018 Tax Return Transcripts - 3 individual PDFs

2018 W2 - I will attach this as well just in case, even though I filed married separately

4 Most Recent Pay Stubs (2 Months - bi-weekly) - 1 PDF

Employment Letter

Beneficiaries Documents:

Birth Certificate

Marriage Certificate

Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)

Passport Pages - Bio-Data Page with Picture and Last Page with Address - 1 PDF

Digital Passport Size Photo - Cropped 2x2 - JPEG or Print to PDF on 8.5x11 page

I know this questions sounds silly, but I want to make sure that I answered them correctly as you cannot change the DS-260 after submission and I don't want any delays. Let me know if I am missing anything. I hope this will help others as well.

Thank you all in advance.

I read somewhere that photos are no longer required at the NVC stage but at the interview.

Trying to confirm that but can't seem to get much help.

Let me know if you find out something

Still no document review.

It's a bit annoying to deal with when I see people on Facebook groups who submitted their documents weeks after me and they get accepted and qualified before me.

One guy today got case complete the same day he submitted.

What's your submission date?

The 11th of August. I've seen people from the end of August and start of September be accepted, not just the odd outlier either but a fair few.

It's one thing for the NVC to methodically work through cases in a rough order they were received and everyone taking roughly the same time, it's another when there's no consistency.

I am glad you asked this question as I’ve been wondering the same thing myself.
