This is all so discouraging. We first submitted our documents in May. Dues to major attorney error I just now submitted the last requested documents 2 days ago. I am hoping for 3 weeks rather than 5.

I do have a question, my husband's police certificate was issued in April. I think I read somewhere that it needs to be issued 6 months or less before the interview, is this true? Do we need to get another police certificate?

We didn't go with an attorney and from all the horror stories I have read about that I am happy we didn't do so. We ended up getting approved on our first try on every step so far (partially thanks to VisaJourney and its great source of information). If I'm not mistaken you only need to replace the police certificate if it was issued over a year ago at the time of the interview.

When it's for immigration purposes, it's good for up to one year, as I understand.

Rotate? Then another 5 weeks! What a waste of time... 8 hope I don't have to rotate or correct anything.. Thanks for the answer

Yeah, it was explained to me that this file is what is used all the way through border patrol and customs. In our case, it was the passport that needed to be rotated. As much as it sucked to wait almost five weeks, I do get that at the border, time is more important with the lines of people waiting.

thank you for the reply. I am definitely kicking myself for going with an attorney, especially since I did this process for myself on my own 10 years ago. Now we just have to wait a little bit longer.

I understand but the second time a document is submitted should take less time to check, not longer lol. I just double checked my husband's passport, his image isn't facing straight, it's facing to the right side... So yup.. I'm guessing I'll be asked to rotate 😕

I'm sorry! I hope it's faster for you. I totally agree, especially because ALL other documents said "Accepted." So it took almost five weeks to review ONE document that just needed to be rotated.

I think it's better if you upload the correct one again asap and put some notes on the comment box rather than waiting for them to review first.

Very smart move, I just did that, hopefully that'll cut down the time. I'm not sure if my submitted date will be Sept 19 instead of sep 9..but still I think that's a smart move. Thank you for the idea vince88 *fingers crossed*

The submitted date will be sept 19. But it’s a lot better than having to resend and wait for another 4 weeks.

Wish i I had done the same for my sister.

good luck to you

The police certificate must be issued within a year from interview date..

Hi Dear All, just found this website, seems a lot of useful information here. Have a couple questions for my case. DQ date is July 28, F4 type visa, interview location is Guangzhou, China. It has been almost 2 month. Any information about when I will receive IL? Thank you very much! 😊
