You'll also need to update the I-130/485 forms with the new number so bring a new copy to the interview. It MIGHT cause a brief delay at the interview stage so if you want to be 100% certain get the new one before submitting to NVC as you'll need the number on your forms. Either option will work but how they will process it we don't know.

Okay, I've never heard this and it's causing me to worry about what to do! A LOT of information on our I-130 has changed in the last 15 months. I moved back to the US, my husband and I both changed jobs, and he got an new passport. His interview is in a few weeks. I imagine tons of people's information changes from I-130 to Interview since it usually takes over a year. Did a consular officer tell you this information? Is it specific to India?

We went through the K1 process in Aug 2017 and changed passport in the middle of the process for renewal. They asked for the updated forms at our interview (because the numbers didn't match) along with affidavit of support, tax and bank records (even though people say it's never requested or required). We had it all prepared and handed it over. We were placed in AP for 8mths and abandoned for marriage in India and filed CR1 after they never processed his Visa. Could be normal practice or could have been a bad officer... we'll never know. No one on the forums back in 2017 mentioned it being an issue and everyone, including us, thought that NOA2 was a guarantee of visa (why wouldn't we be approved with fully loaded packet, affidavits from family, extra prepared forms, etc)? So...now I share the reality with others and pray that no one else has to go through what we did.

You need to anticipate and expect anything that they could ask for and have it ready with you. You just open your saved I-130, update your info and take a fresh signed copy with you...in case they ask for it or it becomes an issue in the interview. Prepare for the unexpected in Mumbai and hope for the best outcome.

Okay, I'm sorry you are having these issues. We aren't in India. We're in a tiny Balkan country - North Macedonia. I guess it can't hurt to update our I-130, but it just has a lot of updated information. We did submit the new number and passport to the NVC

You'll probably do just fine then and they'll be impressed that you have it just in case they ask! 😁

Each applicant has their own affidavit form, so that's separate and for my son I added only an extra copy my husband's passport. I did carry spare copies of irs transcript from my husband but they weren't needed.

Have you received your passports back from the consulate?

Guys

I have interview on 7 October

Can I do my medical tomorrow 17 September???????

Or it is compulsory to do before 15 days of interview????

Please help please

It is usually advised to go in for your medical examination as soon as you receive your IL, because it takes 2 weeks for medical examination results to be ready.

So, what are you waiting for @IKD?

Go ahead and schedule an appointment with the U.S Consulate accredited physician in your country and get your medical examination done asap.

Have an awesome week.
