Well, maybe only if she has information (and solid proof of it) that would make you not eligible for a visa and was not disclosed during the application?

Other than that, I don’t think a scorned ex-partner would have any impact..

I wouldn't worry too much about it. My guess is US Embassies all over the world get this everyday from ex-lovers, ex-wife, ex-husband, disgruntled employees, unhappy neighbors, .... you name it. Without substantial documented evidence to support whatever they're claiming, my guess is the Embassy won't even look at it. They have much better things to do.

Would depend what stuff she has to tell.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I agree, unless she has solid proof of something, I would not worry too much about it.

Some disgruntled ex wives and husbands do stuffs like this all the time. People at the embassies are aware so its nothing new to them. You got nothing to worry about unless

1. You claimed to be single and never married when you are not

2. Your divorce certificate was shrouded in secrecy without her consent and she might have found out

I say these cos I presently know people in immigration detention here in the States cos everything was eventually found out.

Good luck in your journey and I pray all works out for  good

Probably an empty threat. Take a look through these forums and see how many times people post this same thing (either being on the receiving end of such a threat or making such a threat). It always amounts to nothing.

If she had concrete proof that you lied on your application or you are inadmissible, she might be successful. But USCIS is not interested in broken hearts or ex-lovers.

Timeline in brief:

So what stuff are you worried about?

My ex wife is claiming to have been contacted by the Nigeria police and the embassy. I'm currently in AP but then again I posted about this in this forum I was wondering how she came across it or was she really contacted by them. That's all nothing else

There is absolutely no way anyone on here would know.

Whilst it most likely is an empty threat embassies have been known to do field visits if they suspect a couple isn’t genuine (very very rare but happens) typically to go see if the neighbors/family know you are in a relationship.

Could they potentially go visit or talk to an ex spouse to make sure you are genuinely broken up and that it isn’t just a temporary split so you can marry an American, get the green card, then divorce the American, and remarry the original spouse yep they could but is it likely nah. Should you worry - well if you are genuine then you have nothing to worry about (not to say that ap and visits don’t have the potential to add to wait times even if they are erroneous but at least you have a clear conscious).

Agreed - likely an empty threat at best, and even if they did contact her, it doesn't sound like there was anything making you inadmissible. Her being unhappy, angry, saying bad things about you, etc. doesn't impact the visa process. The only issue would be if she said you did do something making you inadmissible, potentially causing them to investigate if it's legitimate or not. And that's theoretical...practically, I wouldn't expect them to waste time with rumors.
