Hey, all.  New to the forum.

I am in Florida and my fiance is in Australia.

Question:  How are any of you planning any sort of wedding with the timeline being so difficult to estimate?

Welcome to the thread. Most are planning to do a court house wedding and afterwards a celebration back in the fiancé country with friends and family.

We need a little housekeeping from you if you will. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

A lot of us are planning a courthouse wedding, or something of the sort, with a larger party or reception.  My SO and I are going to the courthouse and then plan to have a larger get together afterwards, or even a later date, so that we can celebrate with everyone who is able to attend :D

Welcome to the forum! :)

We're having a simple courthouse wedding, so not much planning needed for that. The plan is to get married ASAP so we're applying for the marriage license as soon as I get over jetlag (hopefully in just a day or 2 as another member gave me excellent tips to minimize jetlag). Then the 3-day waiting period, then the wedding. And file AOS as quickly as possible as well.

How is everyone in September 2019 filers holding up so far? Are you still here with us? You are about 60+ days in now, how are you all feeling? Getting closer very good! Some of you should be popping in the next 30-45 days or so, how exciting it will be!!!

Nov 25th marks the 60 day mark for us! I’m excited but just trying not to obsess over it 😂

That's  a great attitude, it'll be here before you know it, your NOA2.

I guess that I tried so hard to manage my anxiety that I’m barely thinking about it 😂.

We’re still going after everything that we need for the AOS, but not thinking about the NOA2 that much anymore.

Tbh, I’m mentally prepared to get a RFE

Don't  say that, better to say you expect the best but are "prepared" for the worst, you'll be fine I'm sure.

RFE's are good if they can be answered to the satisfaction of the USCIS agent in charge of your application. The USCIS agent pretty much have made up their minds by the time an RFE is sent. They are looking for that item that is missing, and once received and it meets their requirements then your approval will soon follow.

Continue to relax as most people are approved and you will be too.

That’s a very nice way to look at the RFE.

Thanks @Greenbaum! I’m ready for getting a RFE for not putting NA on all blank fields, but I know that if it happens, it’s a quick fix!

I will probably start stressing next month. Hoping for the best though! Just working, spending time with my SO in skype and such. Looking at houses to buy, preparing for the transition :D
