Just a question for the group, are most of you guys planning to do a court marriage and a ceremony later? That’s my plan just because my mom has been going crazy ever since I told her I was engaged 😂 I’d be ok with no ceremony and a amazing honey moon lol

We are planning a courthouse marriage and will probably do a party or something later to get as many friends and family together as possible.  Its way cheaper and tends to be a bit quicker getting all the paperwork back. We just have so much to do prior to him getting here and during the time that he is here, that we dont want to put that kind of energy and stress on top of all the other things we have to plan.

Definitely, we want as less stress as possible lol 11/25 will be our 60 day mark! I’ve been trying not to focus to much on counting days lol seems to make time go by faster that way lol

Hello! We sent our I-129F on September 10. Got NOA1 text message on September 20. And got NOA 1 letter on October 27. We are applying overseas.

Your well on your way. Now sit back and enjoy the wait. Stay busy and not think about the when you will get approved. We need a little housekeeping on your part please.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

We're thinking of a church wedding and reception the same day. The honeymoon is a dream that I can't wait to come true! :)

We are both extremely shy and don't like being in the spot light so we will be doing a small ceremony only with close family. We will honeymoon in Las Vegas because he's always wanted to go there.

Well, we're thinking of waiting for a little while after getting the visa before being together.

The VJ K1 guide says "It is valid for one entry into the United States for six months from the date of issuance."

Of course, I would like to be with my partner the instant we get the visa, but once I enter the USA then the 90 day clock starts ticking. If we are patient, we can start planning things the first few months after getting the visa, and then I can come over. That way we won't be as rushed planning and can hopefully book a nice venue, the church, etc.

Positive vibes are always welcomed :)

I updated my profile Thank you for your recommendation. It's going to be a long waiting, but it will be worth it, I wish you luck to everyone.

I'm the beneficiary from Venezuela but our interview will be in Colombia, because the American Embassy in Venezuela is closed due to the political situation. I hope to meet him on the day of the interview in Colombia. Let's see. I can't wait ❤️❤️❤️❤️

The clock start ticking down with the medical date not the visa issuance date for the 6 months validity.

@Greenbaum Thanks for the information! So, you have 6 months from the medical date and then 90 days upon arrival to get married. Correct? That's still a fair bit of time in total I guess.... :)

Maybe VJ should update the information on the K1 guide?

Yes, six months. So schedule your interview close to your medical to give you the most time after visa issuance to enjoy. Your mileage may vary.
